Campaign Rehabilitation

As people, it is in our own highest good to demand certain things from the government that represents us. With so many different opinions of what is right and what is wrong it is vital that there is complete transparency regarding the actions and inactions of our government. To be clear, all governments have an ethical and moral and legal obligation to represent their people. Some governments in our world, yes "OUR" world-the Earth is part of all life just as all life is part of the Earth-are further along in this fundamental necessity to ensure equality of consideration for all life upon our beautiful Mother Earth than others. The people who are governed understand this necessity and only veer from it if they are tempted into believing they are part of the elite groups that govern; in other words, the all too human temptation to exclude others in an effort to raise their own value or worth artificially. As with many seemingly complicated problems, the answer to changing our government to a more representative government of all the people is relatively simple:

·         Complete Transparency- Don't buy into the argument that secrets are needed to protect the people. This is a fear-based manipulative ploy to control the many with the Will of the few.

·         No special interest campaign money for political candidates and complete transparency and accounting of all campaign money for all political candidates.

·         Equality among candidates-candidates get equal radio, internet, television, etc. time to speak to the people.

·         Any politician who participates in negative campaigning strategies that rely upon the manipulation of the truth or facts to disparage their opponents to be disqualified from running for office-do we really want people representing us who do not have an extremely high standard for the truth, the plain simple truth without judgments.

These are three simple things we can demand, as a people. It is up to us to be the change we want to see in the world. There are always natural consequences for every action or inaction. A natural consequence of our current government in the U.S. to continue status quo are actions taken by government officials that do not correspond with the majority of the people; government officials participating in manipulations of the truth or outright lies to further their own private agenda or the private agenda of the special interests groups that funded their campaigns; our children will grow up in a world where lying, manipulation and inequality are accepted ways of life; inequality will continue to run rampant not only among our own citizens but among all the people of the world.

It is not an easy fix but it is simple. Start by signing petitions and/or creating petitions that address these simple fixes. We Are the People-let's start acting like it. We Are One- so let's start acting like it.
